1 Min. Lesezeit

On 22.12.2021, I participated in a roundtable discussion at "Habibi Kiosk" hosted by Muenchner Kammerspiele and Goethe Institute Munich and moderated by Nabila Abdel Aziz. With the words "the right to be cold", former spokespersok of the Inuit Circumpolar Council Okalik Eegeesiak opened the Global Climate Summit in 2015. It is also the name of an interdisciplinary collaborative project among four Goethe Institutes in arctic and boreal regions that investigates the impacts of climate change on ecology, climate justice, Indigenous rights, and culture. In particular, the project supports artist residencies related to Indigenous knowledge. At Habibi Kiosk, two leading artists of the project, Nancy Saunders and Svetlana Romanova speak to environmental sociologist Lena Schlegel and journalist Nabila Abdel Aziz about climate justice, art and emotions.
